looking for a way to load up a joyner in my truck bed

Whats up everyone. thanks ahead of time. I just got me a new pop up trailer camper and now that i have that i cant haul my toy trailer at the same time. I am looking for a good safe, easy way to load up my 250 cc joyner on the back of my f150 ( i think its a short bed) 5.5 ft. any one have any ideas? thanks

It's almost 5' wide. I'm not sure how you plan to get it through the tailgate opening. Ramps up the cab would allow you to carry the 8' long buggy and still tow.

was thinking of building an aluminium flat bed like item and sitting it on top of my truck bed and attaching it to my bed via cable. Then putting ramp to the bed. i figured the weight of the buggy is about 700 lbs tops.

You would need the "sled deck" to be 8' wide in order to side load the Joyner. Having over 2' of rear overhang would interfere with trail towing.

I've never hauled anything with my tailgate down, I just assumed I could. Didn't even consider it getting in the way of the trailer. Well shoot then. I guess I'm gonna need a way to put it up as if it was climbing the cabin of the truck. Maybe if the overhang of the back is high enough so it don't interfere with the trailer it would work.

With rear extensions, a 6.5' bed with the above cover can carry a Joyner. The 5.5' bed is too short. None of these covers are wide enough to side load a Joyner.

Those are perfect ideas. I just am worried they don't show a price... I'm guessing 1000$+ it will cost me. More to haul the buggy then what I paid for it. But perhaps I can self manufacturer something very similar

My guess is something made in steel with ramps will be close to $1000. If you want it in aluminum, about twice that price. If you or friend can weld, it can be done for less and more custom fitted for your truck.

If the trailer is a popup maybe you could consider building a top bed for the buggy to rest on the trailer?

The pop up will not handle the weight of the Joyner without damaging the trailer walls. The axle and wheels most likely do not that much reserve even if the camper body was sufficiently strong.

The pop up could be moved to larger chassis that would have room for the buggy. You're looking at $2000 for the chassis, axle and wheels, then you need the time and skill to move the pop up off the original chassis to the larger one.

You could buy a large flat bed and load the pop up and buggy on it, but now you're looking at prices around $4000.

Yea i wouldnt put the buggy on top of the pop up. i think im gonna build something simple out of wood, then see if my 250cc joyner will do ok in the sand and go from there. i would rather put the money in my truck and lift it, so i can drive with the tailgate down, and just put supports and load the buggy in backwards, putting the weight on the bed not the tailgate

It would be pretty easy to make the tongue of the trailer longer. Would that make it so the tailgate wouldn't interfere with the trailer?

That's exactly what I was gonna look into doing. That seems the easiest thing to do. But still would like an easy and safe way to load up the buggy. (even after I sell this one and buy a larger one)
