exhaust
Can i put on a different exhaust on a 6 hp Tecumseh motor, a header ? its on a carter go kart

You can- but not much technology out there as far as headers for a TEC. I tried many exhaust configurations with ours and did get small gains but in reality just got more noise.TEC motors breath pretty good in stock form.IMO not worth spending any money on it as an upgrade unless you just like having a louder exhaust system.

well thanks again, kpx will be up and running monday.. some new paint ,parts squirt some dirt.. will try and post pictures.. then time to shop for one for meeeee !!!!

I put a header on one of our old school carts with a TECUMSEH 5.5 motor .
I also had it coated first and put a open air uni style filter with a prefilter . The only issue I had was that I had to use Allen key style bolts as standard bolts didnt work and didnt have much luck with home made studs . With both of these seems to run a little stronger but I changed the carb as well so, its like a new machine anyway. Total spent about 65.00 for the header and coating . Its all goooood
