Default 150cc sidewinder sputters when given gas but the runs fine.

150cc gy6 sidewinder buggy, bought if off a gentleman a week ago and got it running. With the carb that came with it, but to start it I had to start it with starting fluid and then could drive it with just smoke and that was all. Well I replaced the carb and the choke and now I can start it without starting fluid and it will idle fine now but when I give it a little gas it wants to die but when I gun it she will go. Note it doesn't have an airfilter, and the vacuum lines are not there. There is a line from the valve cover that pushes air out but idk where it goes. Also while driving it it will backfire just a single pop every know and then. Any ideas.

How is your spark, what color is it? How is the compression and have you checked valve adjustment?

Spark is good, smoke is just white but doesn't do it now with new carb. Compression seems fine, I took the top end off and rings are still good and cylinder. But no I haven't checked my valves.

Well I cleaned the carb just 28th carb cleaner but that's it. I haven't changed the jet so I'm not for sure on the size.
