Default Crossfire 150r shuts off after braking

I just completed a top end rebuild, put in new 10g rollers, UNI intake, and cleaned the carburetor. It runs great but still has an issue with staying running. When I brake and come to a complete stop, the engine shuts off. I have to restart the engine and the ignition is pulling the kart forward. I'm thinking the clutch isn't disengaging properly and still holding on to the belt and causing the jerking and shutting down when coming to a stop. If I want to keep it running I have to stop very carefully and slowly. I'm not sure what the problem is so I came here.

Thanks

If the buggy is trying to move forward when idling then you have a clutch issue.

Well it doesn't move while idling but it moves when I try to start the engine. After the engine stops and I start it again, the starter is making the kart move forward. If I hold the brakes, the starter sounds like it struggles to start. I have none of these problems with a cold start.

Sounds like the clutch is sticking.

Should I replace the entire clutch or only certain parts?

It would be easier and less troubleshooting to replace entire unit.

I would take it apart first. Make sure it isn't just a bunch of dirt or something simple.

Pull the clutch and inspect, you could have a broken clutch arm spring.

I have the same problem when I brake everything cuts off and my lights dim if they are on. Lights also change brightness some when it's running rough so I thought I had a problem with my stator so when I got my flywheel off I noticed how dirty everything was it was almost black from so much dirt and sludge so I cleaned it up and put it back on. Haven't tried starting it yet because I have a bad ignition switch but if it doesn't fix the problem I'll check my clutch next but I don't have the problem with it trying to go or the clutch not engaging only time it tries to go without me trying is when someone gets on the carb and it's holding the gas down so I just have to reach over and pull it back
