ASW Zircon discharging oil out of valve cover breather
I have two ASW Zircon go karts (150cc).
Both of them, at about the same time, started discharging oil from the breather line off of the valve covers, into the air cleaner box. I first noticed this when the machines were running poorly, and took the cleaner off to check the filters. The cleaners were full of oil, and the filters were clogged with oil. I cleaned the cleaner boxes, the filters, and disconnected the breather line from the air filter box. The machines ran fine, but the breather line dumped oil all over the engine. Any suggestions? Can I simply plug this breather line, or will the crank case build up too much pressure and start blowing oil seals? |

I had to elevate my breather line to keep it from dumping oil vapor on the ground, I ran a clear tube & ziptied it up the back of the rollcage pointing up- it let it breath and the oil drained back into the engine.

I like that idea. May have to work that out.
Although, the amount of oil coming out of one of the machines is huge, and they are dumping below a level the dipstick registers. If I can contain the oil, have it drain back in, that would be handy. |
