Default Camshafts

Hey all, I am thinking about putting a cam in my buggy. It is a Trailmaster 150xrs. Basically it is stock (uni/redneck, dr pulley variator, 12gr sliders, and 1500 main spring) no real engine mods. My main question is, where does the stock cam fit between the a9 - a14 designations? Also, any opinions on which cam to use for wooded trails with hill climbs? I have a max speed of 39mph at the current time. I would rather not lose any top speed, while gaining some torque, if that is possible. If necessary, I could make the trade though. Let me hear your opinions and why. Thanks in advance.

Cams are well worth it I hear.
I just installed mine but have not test drive it yet.
I could be wrong but I think a-9 is stock.
A-12 would be what you are looking for as far as torque and speed.

The A-8 and A-9 are more of a top end cam A-10 and A-11 are for mid range A-12 and A-14 are bottom end cams. Never was impressed with the A-14 cam. The A12 would be the best for what you want.

Awesome! Thanks for the input guys. Right now I am the only one in my group with a buggy. It is nice to have people with experience and wisdom to get info from, that would otherwise take time and money to figure out on my own. So, thanks again and thanks to buggy master for a great site.

I put a 12 cams in both of our buggies and am very happy with the results. Some more power but not a huge gain. All the mods work together to give you more power.

I ordered an a12. I should have it tomorrow. I don't know when I will have time to put it in though.

I hope I get my jetting dialed in because I am getting anxious to see the difference my mods make compared to stock.
Luckily Cam is super easy if you follow step by step instructions.
