Default replacement motor for a kandi buggy

I was looking around good ole ebay and noticed complete new engines with carb etc run about 300 bucks is that the norm? also how do I know if min is a short or long version? I was hoping to find one modded from a vendor with a warentee but have not found anything thus far any suggestions. I don't have very deep pockets but would like to have the buggy reliable and fun for the family. right now it burns about as much oil as it does gas so the motor is pretty whooped. thank you for any help guys.

You could do a topend kit for less than a hundred and go to a 58.5 and have a good running little buggy again as long as everything else is intact.

I think the model of the engine is stamped on the block and might help you determine the kind that you have.

You can buy modded gy6 engines. BD has a few. But. They are double than what you can buy stock. Can mod it yourself for half what they charging. But if you don't want to mess with doing it yourself. Then BD. Do have some options in what you might be looking for. They do honor their work.
