Default Timing Chain Issue for GY6 150

How do you get the timing chain in time when you take the head & cylinder off? I marked the variator and aligned the cam holes, and now my marks will not re-align.

Variator has nothing to do with it.

Make sure your piston is at TDC and in line with the flywheel and timing indicator (use a straw or something to verify or mark your flywheel prior to head removal)

Then make sure your cam holes are in line.

What I do is remove the fan cover and mark the flywheel/magneto to the pointer on the engine case, with the cam with the big hole at top center and the two small holes at the edge of the cylinder head.

Check out youtube for gy6 cam timming and I am sure there is some good videos to help you.

The first time it seems difficult but after you do it a couple times you will be a timing pro.
