Default just got a mudhead 208r - need tires - move up in size?

Hi all,

So I just picked up a 2015 mudhead 208r and it needs tires.
The stock size are:
front - 16x6-8
rear - 16x7-8

two questions - can i put a 16x6.5-8 tire on both rims? they would be 1/2 wider than stock front and 1/2 inch narrower than stock rear?

Also - what would be my impact to moving to a set of 18" tall tires? I know top end would be higher but how much would I lose on low end?

Thanks,
Joe

In the rear you won't notice. In the front turn the wheel lock to lock and make sure they will not rub.

IMHO I doubt 18's on a 6.5hp will be noticeable unless the rubbing is really bad in the front and you pick a tire that is really heavy. Make sure you have the steering and fender clearance for the bigger size. When I went with 11x8-23s on my kinroad I had to adjust the fenders and they rub when I really crank on the steering.
