Default Carbide shifter stuck

hey guys, I am trying to address the shifter on my Carbide. Some times when I put it in reverse it gets stuck there. I try to shift it back to neutral or forward and the lever goes forward some but with resistance and then it pulls back into reverse.

Any ideas? has this happened to anyone else?

Does the cable need lubed, or adjusted? or maybe the reverse mechanism needs adjusted or lubed? that has the internal reverse does'nt it?

Not sure I am gonna mess with it and see......From feel alone it almost feels like it is up in the shifter handle it self. I will try lube and check for need of adjustment.

Just had this happen on my Carbide and the clutch nut was loose. Took it off and reinstalled it and everything is great now.

Drivers side under the black cover. Once cover is off, its the right side assembly.

On our dune 150 when the idle is too high it can stick in reverse or you cant get it to go into reverse. What I do is shut the motor off shift it and restart if you have to shift it when the cold high idle is on.

I did notice that too. When idle was high I couldn't get it out of reverse.

Also lighter rollers or sliders will help the clutch engagement rpm. It will take a bit of time to figure out all the bugs. But worth it for sure, our first buggy was just like your it was a manco with a pull start Subaru 6.5hp motor. We sold it after only 3 months to get the blue Baja dune 150. I remember it was good at doing doughnuts but would shake your eyeballs loose if you put your head on the head rest. I did like that it was easy to put in my truck by myself.

Lighter rollers or sliders will help the clutch not to engage so soon if you cant get the idle lower. You will have fun with the gy6 motor because there is a lot of bolt on parts and mods you can do to make it work for your ridding style and terrain.
Good looking buggy you got for 800 bucks!!!, I try to tell people how cost effective these are compared to having to buy two quads or dirt bikes to get two riders out in the dirt.
They may be made in china, but tuned in the USA. Have fun and be safe.

I hope in a year or so I buy another one for the Wife. Very cost effective. Saw your videos, pretty cool.
