I believe the Honda CT series but if you can post a pic of the engine I can tell you for sure. If it is more then 5 years old it will be 90% a CT series.

sorry, I'm late getting back with pictures, work has been crazy. It's tough to start. The stock battery was crap, and won't fire up with the choke on (as directed in instructions) will eventually run with choke off and seem to run well. Carb doesnt seem to have a fuel/air screw. just a idle screw with spring on it. I don't know the carb type other than that the throttle cable goes in through the top. Oh, and can I use the same spark plug type from the GY6?

Yes it is the CT style engine used by Honda for several years. Excellant engine but they do not like to be run in low gear all the time. Many people would just show the young kids how to bump the shifter into first and let them ride around in first all day to keep their speed down, this will overheat the engine and burn it up. It needs to be upshifted. This may be why Hammerhead, and Trailmaster use the mower type engines today.

Being it is a late model they may have made changes to it. The earlier ones had 2 speed and some 3 speed shuttle shift where you would bump the shifter fwd. for first then let off the gas and bump the shifter for second and third. Those engines were basically small motorcycle engines with either a manual or auto clutch. All the buggies I know used the auto clutch. Chances are it is either a 2 or 3 speed. It will not be marked as such at the shifter.
