Post Throttle Problems

Hi, my 150cc coolster buggy is running great apart from the fact that when i accelerate, the throttle cable sticks on. Not good news, any suggestions on what the problem is? New throttle cable maybe? thanks

That's a problem you don't want to have!!!! cables seldom go bad, unless it's been kinked or water could get into it. Does the Coolster have a rod from the pedal? Is the curved metal shroud still in good shape at the carb?

Try lubing the cable.
One trick is to remove it and insert one end through the corner of a plastic bag, tie the corner of the bag up with a rubber band or a bread tie, etc.
Put some motor oil in the bag and let it hang up overnight.
The oil will drain through the cable and lube it properly.

To do it quicker follow the instructions in these pictures.

Check your throttle stop on the carb. I have a cheap knock off carb, and the throttle stop is not as long as the original, so it actually will slip past the stop and "hang up"

Might wanna look into that.
