10w-30w or 10w-40w for our area. I've run 20w-50w in the dead of summer too.

Yeah from what I've read it's atleast 10w30. No thinner. In the summer I'd probably be running 10w40.

Also use motorcycle oil as it's designed for use in air cooled engines. Automotive engine oil is meant for water cooled engines and doesn't hold up as well to the heat air cooled motors make.

If you have lots of monies. I run rotella in every motorized vehicle I have. Dirt bikes to cars. Most motorcycles and dirtbikes are liquid cooled anyways. Oil especially for motorcycles are different mainly due to the fact they lack friction modifiers that will cause the clutch to slip since many dirtbike/motorcycle engines share oil for the engine and trans. Friction modifiers should actually increase your engines life. If its heavier than 10w40 or is a diesel engine oil or a specialty oil it probably will not have friction modifiers.

750ml or an eighth of a quart for us special Americans that have to be different from the rest of the world. I'm a fan of doing the oil change on a slightly warm engine. Slightly being key, run it for a minute or two and shut it off and drain the oil. This will result in a faster and more complete drain since the oil will be thinner when warm.

It's pretty close to half a Qt of engine oil on mine.

I would look it up in your owners manual, or add a little oil and keep checking the dipstick until it measures full.
