That looks like an oiling failure. What were you doing when it went and how did it go?

DAMN! Hey when it was running, how much difference did it make power wise between stock and big bore kit as far as seat of the pants difference?

it acted like it gave you an extra 1/4 throttle... if you can understand what i mean.. it had more "seat of the pants" feel... in combination with the 170 head and 9 gram rollers and everythine else in my sig it wayy better than the stock motor...

its worth it... as long as you do it RITE!!!! if you need any help i can walk you through it... you dont even haft to send it to a machine shop... all the special tools you need is a dye grinder and a stator removal tool...

So you can get away with just grinding the bore to fit the sleeve into it?

I am yet to have the head off of one of these, are you able to do the grinding and just stuff a rag in the case to keep the garbage out?

you could but the rite way is to take the motor COMPLETLY apart and split the case and take all the internals out of it then slap the empty cases back together and then grind the block... just make shure you got the new cylinder their before you attemp the grinding... i know some one that did this...

wow! I had no idea that there was that much difference between them! You should definately be feeling the torque difference. Sounds like a great mod for the helix.

I'm assuming that on the bottom of those cyliders there is a protruding sleeve, correct? And this is what the machining needs to be done for?

yes their is a protruding sleeve (look in first pic of this section) the reason that the case needs to be machined is because the diameter is diffrent... you go from a 58mm diameter (150cc) to a 61mm (170cc) or a 62mm(180cc) cylinder... depending on which size big bore kit you buy....
