Default ASW Carbide: It happened, again...

In March 2010, I messed up the gearbox on my Carbide, and I made the mistake of sending it to a local shop, where they had it for THREE MONTHS! It happened again about a week ago. I was riding around some farmlands. My question is this. What should I do? Part of me wants to try to fix it myself, but the other part of me is scared to try because I don't want to take the gearbox apart and not be able to put it back together. That part of me just wants to take it to the shop again... What to do, what to do...

Well I'm afraid I will take the cover off and everything will fall out haha. I'm wondering if I will have to drop the engine out of it and if there's a fluid in the gearbox? If so, how do I take the fluid out?

Try fixing it yourself first-Worst you can do is get an education!!! then if it's too much for you then get the SLOW guy to repair it.There should be gear oil in the gearcase. Look for a bolt at the rear towards the middle to bottom to drain.Without seeing your exact gearbox- most have a cover that will come off leaving all the shafts & gears intact when it's laying on it's side. If that means you need to remove the engine then so be it!

You don't have to pull the engine, do it right in the buggy in a clean location. You can get the repair manual from ASW website to download. These are not hard to do. Just one tip. Order a new cover gasket. The first one I had done I used a gasket maker instead of the gasket and the tranny locked up. After beating my head against the wall I realised that when I loosened the bolts everything worked great. The gasket is also a spacer so you need the gasket, no way aroung using one. The diagrams in their manual will show you how everything goes. So don't be afraid to tackle it.

Well.... I DID IT!! I was amazed that it all came out so easily; I'm also happy that I didn't have to take the engine out. You can see the problem gear. That final drive gear has two broken teeth on it and the little gear that rides on is stripped. What took a small engine shop three months to do, I did in three hours.

The pricing is not what is awfull, it is the worth of our dollar against the rest of the world. Everything is going up in price.

Yes. And, if I may say this, Mr. Obama is not helping anything.

Well you can't blame Obama like you can't blame Kermit the Frog, for they are both puppets. Its the puppeteers who are to blame. This is why I say all puppets must be voted out and replaced with non puppets (Statesmen). The puppeteers are useless with out their puppets like a Fireman without water. And remember the Republican and Democrat parties are nothing more than the puppet manufactures.

So if Obama is a puppet, who's his puppeteer?

The very wealthy and powerful, they stay behind the scenes and many are not even known to the average people. The great military complex for which Eisenhower warned us in his farewell speach. This is why the puppet politician can molest, commit fraud, drive a car into a river leaving a young lady to drown even be an ex KKK Grand Wizzard and still remain in office with never a charge being filed. For these weathy few control the banks, major corporations, news media, ect. When their loyal puppets screw up they come in and clean up the mess and divert the publics attention away, but cross them and you end up like Lincoln, JFK,RFK, MLK,.
