Default Manco Scorpion 606c Engine

My Dad recently bought a Manco Scorpion 606c for the grandkids. The motor is apart and supposedly bad. We are thinking of just buying a new motor instead of fixing and possibly having issues with the old one. What would be a good replacement Motor? Should i get another Subaru Robin Motor?

I would get the harbor freight engines. The 6.5 hp you can get for $99 and the others are not too bad on price either.

I have yet to purchase one, but I hear good things about them. I will probably buy one In the near future. Seeing as it is a Honda clone, there are plenty of upgrades for it.

The HF engines are just like anything else you get from there, most times they are great, but sometimes you get a junker. Get the extended warranty, if you can. I know a couple of kart racers that use these engines with and without hop ups and they both said to buy one. There are hop up parts available, if you are looking, that shows how popular they are.
