Default What this for?

I just started getting into fixing up Go Karts for my grand kids. I purchased a used Yerfdog Spiderbox 150cc. (at least that's what I was told) ? I was wondering if someone here could tell me what this is? I know its hooked into the brake linkage. It's located under the drivers seat. I'll attach a couple photos. I see the wires its connected to are exposed so I want to figure out what to do with them. I'm sure this seems pretty lame for most of you here. This is my first bigger go karts. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Ed

If I had to guess, I think it's a safety switch. So you can only start it while holding the brake? If not, then it could just be a break light switch?

Thanks for the info. I suppose I could try hooking a 12v light up to those 2 wires and see if it lights when the brakes are pushed. It's weird they have the wires taped up but yet left the ends bare. Thanks again. Ed

If the two wires come from the switch, and no where else, there wont be any power.

If it's a safety switch, someone probably jumped the two wires together, that used to got to the two wires you see.

Default What's this for

The wires also tie into some wires but I'm not sure what they are for.
