Default Short or Long Case?

I have a Helix 150cc. I was about to purchase a kit for CVT and guy asked me "short or long case"...He said something about 10" or smaller would be a "short case" and anything larger than 10" tires would be "long Case". Before I replied to him I would figure I would ask here for maybe a better explanation or answer. I am purchasing a CVT that comes with a belt so reason he may be asking.

Every buggy I've seen uses a short case

Count the bolts on the cover if in doubt
