Default Exhaust

Is gutting your exhaust worth the hassle as far as improved performance.

I'm surprised no one has responded to this thread. As for gutting the exhaust, all I have done is removed the spark arrestor and that made it a little punchier.

Personally I would just look on ebay for an FMF and have it welded on.

I got a FMF slip on. No welding required.

Know any people who fabricate? I built my own flange and header pipe, bought a universal screw on lawnmower muffler ($4.95) at the hardware store and welded it on. Added a mount bracket and installed. Took about 2 hours. Sounds good, not overly loud and seems to have better takeoff.
