Tire problems
I have never had so many tire problems as I have had with my boy's helix.
The original 18" tires kept blowing the bead in hard corners. So changed the rollers and bumped up to 22" and it is working well, but still losing the seal at the bead. So, I put tubes in. I have now put in 5 different tubes in 2 tires. It's beginning to kill the fun! Anyone else have such problems? Do I need to go all the way with beadlocks? |

What type of tire and wheel are you using? Too low of air pressure is normally the cause of poping the bead. Most atv tires run in the 8 to 10 lb range. You might try the silicon trick. Pop the tire bead then run a bead of clear adhesive silicon caulk around the rim in the bead channel. Allow the caulk to cure for about 30 minutes then reset the tire. over inflate to around 12 to 14 lbs and let set overnight. drop the air pressure back to the normal range the next day.

Rims are stock for the helix. Tires are a used set of holeshot type. We know 1 time the tube failed because he aired down a little to smooth out the ride. He spun the valve stem right off. All the other times have just been random pinholes in the tubes. I personally pulled the tube, and ran my hane all around where the puncture was, and found nothing. I'm about to fill them with foam!

Dont do it. You aint seen a rough ride till you fill them with foam. Take and run some duct tape around the inside of the rim and see if that helps
|

wow this is the first I have heard of a problem like this. Does sound like you got crappy rims or something.

try lining the inside of the tire with atv silcone will preventsmall pin holes
